But there is one big question for PC gamers: What PC will you need to run GTA 6?

Why Could GTA 6 Be a Demanding PC Game?

If you are building a new gaming PC and your budget allows it, 32GB could be a better long-term choice.

Will 8GB RAM Run GTA 6?
This is difficult to answer before Rockstar publishes official requirements.
However, I would not recommend building a GTA 6-focused gaming PC with only 8GB RAM.
Even if a future PC version technically starts with 8GB, performance could be limited when Windows and other applications are also using memory.
For a new gaming computer in this class, 16GB should be considered a much more practical starting point.
If you already have 8GB, you do not necessarily need to upgrade today. Wait for official PC information first.
What Graphics Card Could GTA 6 Need?
The graphics card will probably be one of the biggest concerns for PC gamers.
GTA 6 has highly detailed environments, realistic lighting, water, vehicles, characters, vegetation, reflections, and large viewing distances.
A possible minimum level could be around an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 Super or AMD Radeon RX 6600.
For better graphics settings and smoother performance, something around an RTX 3070, RTX 4060 Ti, RX 6800, or a newer GPU in a similar performance class may be more comfortable.

How Much VRAM Could GTA 6 Need?
VRAM is the memory available on your graphics card.
It is used for things such as textures, shadows, models, and other visual information.
For a game as detailed as GTA 6, having enough VRAM could become important, especially at 1440p or 4K resolution.
A graphics card with 8GB VRAM may be a reasonable target for many players.

Could an RTX 3060 Run GTA 6?

Will GTX 1650 Run GTA 6?
The GTX 1650 was a popular budget graphics card, but it is now quite old for demanding modern AAA gaming.
It also has limited VRAM compared with many newer graphics cards.
It is possible that a future GTA 6 PC version would be very difficult to run properly on a GTX 1650, especially if Rockstar targets newer graphics technologies.

Another major question is the download size.
There is currently no official GTA 6 PC storage requirement.
Some online posts claim that GTA 6 will require 200GB, 250GB, or even 300GB. These numbers should not be treated as confirmed.
Our rough estimate would be to prepare at least 150GB or more of free SSD space, but the actual installation size could be very different.
For comparison, Rockstar currently lists GTA V Enhanced at 105GB of SSD storage on PC.
GTA 6 contains a newer and more detailed world, so a larger installation would not be surprising.
If you are planning a new gaming PC, a 1TB SSD is much more practical than a very small drive because GTA 6 will not be the only game or application installed on your computer.
Could GTA 6 Require Windows 11?
Windows 11 could be the recommended operating system for GTA 6 on PC.
Rockstar currently recommends Windows 11 for GTA V Enhanced, while Windows 10 is still listed in its minimum requirements.
By the time a possible GTA 6 PC version arrives, Windows 11 may become an even more common requirement for modern gaming.
For a new PC build, using an up-to-date 64-bit version of Windows would be the safer choice.
GTA 6 at 1080p: What PC Could Be Enough?
1080p remains a popular gaming resolution and requires less graphics power than 1440p or 4K.
If GTA 6 receives good PC optimization, a mid-range gaming computer could possibly provide a good 1080p experience.
A sensible future-focused 1080p setup might include:
- A modern six-core CPU or better
- 16GB to 32GB RAM
- A modern mid-range graphics card
- At least 8GB of VRAM where possible
- An NVMe SSD
The exact graphics settings and frame rate would depend on the final PC version.
GTA 6 at 1440p: What Could You Need?

The recommended specifications increase to an Intel Core i5-9600K or AMD Ryzen 5 3600, 16GB dual-channel RAM, an RTX 3060 or RX 6600 XT with 8GB VRAM, and a DirectStorage-compatible drive.
GTA 6 is being developed for newer console hardware and shows a much more advanced world. Therefore, it would be reasonable to expect a future PC version to have requirements above GTA V Enhanced.
Should You Upgrade Your PC for GTA 6 Right Now?
For most people, no.
If GTA 6 is the main reason you want to upgrade, waiting is probably the smarter decision.
Rockstar has not announced the PC version or official requirements. Buying an expensive GPU today based on an unofficial requirements list could lead to disappointment.
Hardware prices can also change, and newer processors and graphics cards may become available before GTA 6 reaches PC.
If you already need a new computer for other modern games, work, school, editing, or streaming, then upgrading can still make sense.
